The documents request, in order to confirm your registration data is a common procedure world wide and it is made by the companies that make transactions through the Internet.
You can receive such a request, for example:

Documents:
- The copy of a document, confirming persons ID (Passport, driver’s license)
- The copy of any bill on your name, where your home address is indicated (bank statement, electricity, communal or phone bill, policy of insurance).
- If you use a credit card - the copy of a card from both sides.
