Can I have more than one account?

No, each player is allowed to have only ONE account registered at GoPlay. Multiple account creation is considered as a breach of our terms and conditions, and as such it may lead to account closure. It is enough to have one account to be eligible to use other gaming modules offered at GoPlay.

<Back>

Can I change my password and Player ID?

You can change your password, and most other personal details, anytime. Choose "Your Details" from the File menu in the Lobby and make the changes from the "Cashier".
As a general rule the Player ID cannot be changed since this is what identifies you to the other players in the poker room. Much of the fun and skill with poker is getting to know your opponents. We may allow a change under special circumstances on a case by case basis. If you need to change your Player ID please contact support@goplayclub.com with your reason for requesting the change.

<Back>

Can my wife and I use the same deposit/sign up bonus?

No. A deposit/sign up bonus is only allowed to be used once per household.

<Back>

Can I play for real money?

You can choose if you want to play for real money or just for fun (with Fun Money). We recommend new players to start playing at our FunMoney tables and then once they feel confident with our software join the real money games.

<Back>

How do I start playing?

To start playing, you need to run our software and sign up. You can either download the software or play directly from our website. The browser based version has the exact same functions as our downloadable version. Once you have opened the software it is possible to enter the Lobby and watch real games without signing up. You can sign up by clicking the "Open Account" link beside the login area or from the File menu in the Lobby.

<Back>

Where can I get information about the rules and poker game instructions?

We recommend that all our players read our Game Rules. The easiest way to get familiar with our poker software and all the features is to have a look at our Poker School and Game Tour. Here we will show you how the games work in an easy way and give you some strategic tips.

<Back>

How do I join a game?

In the Lobby you can view all the available tables. If you select a table, you can see who is playing and how many chips the players have. From here, you can go to the table you desire, either by double-clicking on the table listing or by selecting it and clicking the "Go To Table" button. To join the game, you simply click on an empty seat and buy chips. If all seats are full you can join the Waiting List.

<Back>

Can I change seats in a poker game?

The only way to do this is to first leave the table and then come back. Please note that you will be treated as a new player and if there are players on the Waiting List you may not be able to join the game again immediately.

<Back>

How does a new cash game start?

As soon as 2 active players are seated at the table, the game will start in 30 seconds.  Anyone who has been marked as "away" is considered inactive.

<Back>

Can I play at more than one table at the same time?

Yes, it is possible to play at several tables at the same time. When it is time to act at one table it will "pop-up" in front of the others. Playing at two or more tables is only recommended for more experienced players. Please make sure that you are not slowing down the games for the other players.

<Back>

Can I review old hands that have been played?

Yes, you can review the Hand History from specific pots or your last several hands. You can make a search for the desired Hand Histories from your Cashier.

<Back>

What is rake?

Rake is the money GoPlay charges our players for the services we provide. This is deducted from each pot in cash games. The current rake structure is represented in our Poker Rules Section. If you only play with FunMoney there is no rake.

No Limit, Pot Limit, ½Pot Limit, Fixed Limit and Spread Limit:
€0.01 in rake for each €0.20 in the pot and capped at €0.75 for 2 players seated, €2.00 for 3 players and €3.00 for 4-10 players. For pots between €0.20 and €0.39 the rake is €0.02.

<Back>

What are VIP-points and how do I get them?

GoPlay uses a weighted contributed rake system. One VIP point is rewarded for each €0.50, which has been contributed in rake. When a player bets money into the pot, he/she also contributes an amount in the rake. The amount of VIP-points awarded to the player per hand is based on the player’s contribution into the pot and consequently to the rake. If the player’s rake contribution is less than €0.50, then the player is awarded with partial VIP-points. The maximum rake which can be taken from the pot is €3, thus the player can earn up to 3 VIP-points per hand. The players that do not contribute any money into the pot are not rewarded with any VIP-points.

Example:
Game: Texas Holdem €1/2 No Limit

Players: 6
Player A bets €1 (small blind) into the pot
Player B bets €2 (big blind) into the pot
Player C bets €40 into the pot
Player D bets €40 into the pot
Player E folds
Player F folds
The total pot of this hand is €83 and the rake is €3.

 Player Pot Contribution Rake Contribution Awarded VIP-points
 A €1/€83 = 1.2% €0.036 ~ 0.072
 B €2/€83 = 2.4% €0.072 ~ 0.144
 C €40/€83 = 48.2% €1.446 ~ 2.892
 D €40/€83 = 48.2% €1.446 ~ 2.892
 E €0/€83 = 0.0% €0 ~ 0.00
 F €0/€83 = 0.0% €0 ~ 0.00

VIP points are also awarded for participation in tournaments. If you participate in a scheduled multi-table tournament or a Sit & Go, you will receive 1 VIP point for each €0.5 paid in tournament fee.

No VIP points will be awarded, if VIP points are used to settle the tournament buy-in cost.

<Back>

How do I use VIP-points?

Your VIP points can be used as “buy-in” in tournaments. The VIP points can also be used for different promotions that we offer to our frequent players. For more frequent withdrawals there is a fee of €10 or you can trade 100 VIP Points.

What about integrity.

Our top priority is to create an environment that all our players can totally trust. We do everything to ensure that our games are fair and honest. GoPlay does not participate in any poker games, we only provide the venue for your game.
GoPlay have spent a lot of time and effort to make sure that our random number generator is truly random and that the algorithms used for shuffling the cards meets the highest standards. Our choices of both software and hardware are designed to provide a secure environment for all our players.
Many poker players are a bit suspicious about online poker because of the possibility of player collusion at the table. GoPlay do everything we can to prevent collusion. The management will investigate all complaints registered by players suspecting collusion. If the management strongly suspects that players have been involved in collusion those players' accounts will be closed immediately.
The management reserves the right to review hand histories, including player's hole cards.

If the tournament window closes during play, how to get back in?

If you are disconnected from a running tournament, it probably means your internet connection to our server disconnected. To resume the tournament, please restart the poker software and you should be automatically returned to the table.

If you are not directed back to the tournament, please make a note of any error message and send this message to our support team.

<Back>

What happens if I get disconnected while playing?

As we all know the internet is not perfect. Occasionally players will be disconnected for various reasons. If you get disconnected during play the software will attempt to reconnect you automatically and return you back to your seat. Usually you will only be disconnected for a short while and may be back in time to act. Since you sometimes may have problems at your end we recommend our players to have alternate ISP´s if one goes down.

<Back>

What happens if I have a hand and cannot return back in time to act?

If you do not return in time, your hand will automatically be folded if you have not put any money in the pot. If you have invested money in the pot you may be treated as all-in under certain circumstances. It is only possible to become artificialy all-in in Fixed Limit and Spread Limit games, not in PL , ½PL and NL games, and only in cash games. All players will be granted a finite number of all-in protections per 24 hours.
On FunMoney tables your hand will be folded if you do not act in time, no matter the circumstances.

<Back>

Suddenly I cannot act at a table, what’s wrong?

Most likely you haven’t answered a dialogue box and the table has popped up in front of it. To be able to act, you need to minimize the table, answer the question, and then open the table again.

<Back>

Why is my client unable to connect to the server?

It could be your firewall that is causing the problem. The poker client uses port 12001 and 443 on TCP/UDP. Please check your firewall settings that these two are open allowing the client to connect to the servers.
